Come along to enjoy singing with a large friendly choir and discover Stainer’s popular setting of the passion story “The Crucifixion“.
Join Ipswich Choral Society for the day combining a workshop led by Robin Walker to explore singing techniques and getting the best from your voice as well as rehearsing for a performance at the close of our Come and Sing event.
ICS Music Director, Robin Walker, has over twenty years of professional experience directing choirs, sharing his passion for singing together and making live music. Robin is joined by organist David Poulter who was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Guild of Church Musicians in 2008 in recognition of his “great contribution to church music over many years”.
We will use the New Novello Choral Edition of The Crucifixion (ISBN 0-85360-938-1). If you don’t have your own score we can provide one for you. ICS will provide morning refreshments and afternoon tea free of charge, please bring along your own packed lunch.
Registration on the day is from 10am with the workshop starting at 10.30am. The concert at the end of the day will start at 3.30pm.
The cost for the day will be £20, free for students. Please complete and return the booking form with payment by 20th March to take part.
The concert performance at 3.30pm will cost £5 (students and U16s free), payable on the door.
