My association with the choir began in September 1984 when my late husband joined the choir. I was ‘roped in’ by Margaret Smith, who at that time was the Social secretary and Fundraiser to help with the Christmas Coffee morning, which in those days was an annual event held in the Church House attached to St-Mary-le-Tower. This happy partnership carried on for some time but the responsibility was handed over to me about a year later. Suffice to say I have been here ever since and I still don’t actually sing!!!!
To raise funds for the choir I supply baked goods to two or three farm shops as well as selling direct to choir members on a regular basis at our weekly rehearsals. Over the years this has expanded to providing catering for parties, general function buffets and funerals. Celebration cakes are also available to order. The functions and Celebration cakes are always tailored to peoples needs and budget.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like further details from a simple cake order to function catering, via the Contact Us page or call me on 01473 254819.
As a choir we hold numerous functions where we get together to enjoy the social side of choir life. These are always busy times for me and my band of volunteers but very satisfying. We hold an annual summer BBQ with disco, Halloween party and after Concert parties.
Most years I hold a public coffee morning in early December at my home, where a variety of Christmas merchandise is available to purchase along with a range of Christmas cakes, puddings and other baked goods.
Significant funds are raised by these activities and your continued support is much appreciated.
